One particularly striking image captured the moon’s seemingly enormous size as it ascended over the Darwen Tower in Lancashire. Another breathtaking photo revealed a slightly less orange moon rising behind the Victoria Tower in Huddersfield.

Contrary to what one might assume, the term ‘Strawberry Moon’ does not imply that the full moon appears pink, even though it may seem that way in the sky. The name is derived from the North American tradition of strawberry harvesting, which typically takes place in June. Many cultures have regarded this celestial event as a signifier of the onset of the warm summer season.

Unfortunately, those hoping to witness the Strawberry Moon firsthand have now missed their opportunity. The full moon was visible late last night and in the early hours of the morning, around 4 am.

One enthusiastic photographer managed to capture an incredible moment as someone ran past the ascending moon. It resulted in an extraordinary composition that perfectly merged human activity with the lunar spectacle.

The moon also made a stunning appearance above the Empire State Building in New York, peeking out from behind some clouds. The enchanting sight added a touch of magic to the cityscape.

Throughout the year, there can be more than 12 full moons, each corresponding to a unique full moon name. Therefore, there’s no need to fret, as the next opportunity to witness a full moon in all its glory will arrive on July 3, when the Buck Moon takes center stage.

The Strawberry Moon made its presence known again in Los Angeles, where a person was captured running past it, creating a striking juxtaposition.

In bustling New York City, the Strawberry Moon played a game of hide-and-seek, occasionally peeking out from behind a few scattered clouds, adding an air of mystery to the night sky.

The awe-inspiring images of the Strawberry Moon rising across the world serve as a reminder of the beauty and majesty that can be found in the celestial realm. Although this particular lunar event has passed, it leaves us eagerly awaiting the next spectacle that nature has in store for us.
