This is the tale of an unfortunate canine who was abandoned in a river and left to perish but was rescued by a pair of kind dog enthusiasts.

Bella, a German shepherd aged ten, was no different from other dogs in her fondness for love, affection, and kisses. She was one of our devoted and affectionate companions, just like any other.

Bella was struggling to keep herself above water and was on the verge of drowning when she luckily caught the attention of two kind-hearted women out walking their dogs. These women were none other than Jane Harper and Joanne Bellamy.

Wow, the rock that was fastened to Bella’s neck was so huge, it’s no surprise that the little pooch couldn’t stay afloat and almost drowned! Once Bella was saved from the water, it was evident to the dog walkers that she needed medical attention right away. Consequently, they rushed her to the nearby veterinarian for some urgent care.

Following her visit to the veterinarian, Bella was brought to the RSPCA where she received attentive care.

During Bella’s visit to the vet, it was discovered that there were additional health concerns that needed to be addressed. It’s truly amazing that she managed to survive her ordeal of being submerged in freezing water.

Bella was under the care of the RSPCA after suffering from cruel acts inflicted upon her. The organization took charge and immediately informed the local authorities to investigate and identify the person responsible for such abuse. After being with the RSPCA for a duration of 15 months, Bella made a full recovery and is now enjoying life as a content and healthy canine.

As a result, Bella was able to find her permanent home with Maggie and Charlie, who are both retired. Bella’s personality seems to be a perfect match for the couple, making it seem like a match made in heaven.

The family who took in Bella are no strangers to caring for shepherd-type dogs and gladly welcomed her into their home with open arms. Maggie, one of Bella’s new owners, expressed her family’s fondness for the breed, revealing that they have had three similar dogs in the past 30 years.

A couple of years ago, we lost our rescue dog Tia/Luna, and this year, my daughter’s dog, Flame, passed away. We were heartbroken by their absence. However, when Bella’s story made it to the news a few weeks back, we felt a glimmer of hope. We learned that she was in need of a home, and my daughter, Clare Lusher, encouraged us to apply for her.

We are aware that Bella will require regular visits to the vet, and we are prepared to provide for her needs. Despite her advanced years, we are eager to give her the love and care she deserves after all she has been through.

As we are now both in our retired years, my companion will have the pleasure of our constant companionship, which is exactly what she requires. Moreover, it will be just as wonderful for us to have her around.
