The manual transmission is a standard seven speed with a dogleg-style first gear. With a dogleg style transmission, gears 2 through 7 will be set up in the traditional H layout. However, the first gear will be down and to the left, while reverse will be up and to the left. This is the opposite of the layout found in most manual transmissions.

Unfortunately, only 200 aston Martin Vantage aMRs will be built. However, there’s good news for manual transmission fans: the seven speed transmission will be available on standard Vantages starting next year!

The aMR variant won’t just have a manual transmission either. it’ll be lighter as well, with designers having managed to shave off more than 200 pounds. The engine cranks out the same 503 horsepower and actually produces less torque, down from 550 pound-feet to 461 pound-feet.
