Meet the beautiful Melania , a cat whose life journey includes several people. One Danijela who was the first to photograph, one Milica who published, one Aleksandra who took care of her and one Ljiljana with whom she stayed forever – we contacted Ljiljana and wanted to know more about her. We followed her story and previous posts and decided to write a text about Melania’s life.

Melania was on the street, in the snow, for weeks. As Ljiljana wrote to us, Melanija, and once Frea, first went to Aleksandra, but Ljiljana offered to take her in, take care of her and keep her until adoption, due to the large number of animals Aleksandra already cares for.

Aleksandra noticed that the cat had some problem with walking, but they never dreamed what would be seen on the X-ray. They took her to the filming and found out that she had suffered a blow, and a little later that she had been kicked on purpose. As Ljiljana wrote to us, Melanija had dozens of healed fractures, and her pelvis was dislocated.

Since that moment that happened three years ago, Melanija has been living with Ljiljana. “She is functional, she limps because she has ruptured ligaments in the knee of her right rear leg, but she has no pain,” Ljiljana writes to us.

She adds that many people wanted to adopt her, but they never convinced her that, in case there was a need, they would take her to an operation and pay the necessary amount . Since Ljiljana is sensitive to such cats, she kept Melanija as her fifth cat.

After consulting with several veterinarians and discussing what they would get and how dangerous amputation is, they decided to leave it as it is.Melania is limping today, but she is jumping, happy and cheerful.

In one of her posts, Ljiljana wrote: “No, I didn’t keep her because she is incredibly beautiful, but because of her handicap. Some of her movements are limited, but she is healthy and happy. And we will fight together”.
