Say hello to the new Maybach EQS SUV, the first EV from Mercedes’ luxury arm.

The standard Mercedes EQS is luxurious – but the Maybach EQS SUV turns up the dial.

Supercar Blondie’s Sergi Galiano got a treat when he went to check out the luxury SUV.

Sergi was quick to point out how much chrome is on the Maybach EQS SUV.

For starters, it’s got a huge grille with 3D-effect chrome pinstripes running down it.

That’s as well as a shiny trim strip with Maybach branding subtly integrated.

What’s less subtle are the tiny Maybach logos that are all over the blanked-off side vents.

The front end is finished off with a chrome splitter and then, down the sides, you’ve got shiny 22-inch mirror-polished rims and illuminated side skirts.

Just like the Maybach GLS, the Maybach EQS SUV has chrome trim around the windows and on the pillars between the front and rear doors.

Its inclusion is actually very clever, as it makes the SUV look longer than it actually is.

Then there’s another Maybach logo on the rear pillar, as well as more chrome on the lower fender.

In true Maybach fashion, there’s hand-painted pinstripes in five different colors.

The Maybach EQS SUV isn’t too dissimilar to the standard Mercedes EQS SUV in the sense that you get the same steering wheel and Hyperscreen infotainment system.

However, exclusive to the Maybach are new display screens, which include a ‘Discreet’ setting which hides as many menus and icons as possible.

A really cool feature of the Hyperscreen is that it will also change color to match the mood lighting, which looks sick.

It’s also got some fancy stainless-steel pedals, Maybach logos embroidered into the headrests, and doors that project the emblem into the floor as you get in.

But it’s the back of the Maybach EQS SUV where the party’s at.

As standard, the posh rear seats come with ventilation and massaging function, but if you opt for the First Class upgrade, you get the full works.

You get two separate lounge chairs with a huge center console dividing them.

There’s no shortage of gadgets, too, with fast-charging for your phone and HDMI ports linking to the two 12-inch infotainment screens mounted to the back of the front seats.

These screens link up to the Hyperscreen infotainment upfront, so you can set the climate control and sat nav destination without having to utter a word to your chauffeur.

It wouldn’t be a Maybach without a fridge in between the seats for your champagne.

Oh, and of course, it comes with insulated cup holders and a pair of silver-plated champagne flutes.

Now it’s time to talk about what’s under the hood.

The Maybach EQS SUV: An Unparalleled Luxury Experience on Wheels
The Maybach EQS SUV is more powerful than the top-spec Mercedes EQS SUV 580.

It’s got two electric motors that combine to produce 658 horsepower and 698 lb-ft of torque, propelling the luxury SUV from 0-97 km/h (0-60 mph) in 4.4 seconds.

Although an exact figure hasn’t yet been quoted, it’s understood the Maybach EQS SUV will do 600 kilometeres (373 miles) on a full charge.

Its price tag hasn’t been revealed either, although it’s believed the SUV will cost north of $200,000
