Before Wednesday night’s game against the Toronto Raptors, Memphis Grizzlies star Ja Morant brought his 4-year-old daughter, Kaari, onto the court with him for warmups.
Kaari is seen jumping up and down, holding the ball for several seconds, getting a few dribbles off, passing the ball to her NBA father, who completes the slam dunk.
The Grizzlies haven’t had much to be excited about this season and they were beaten again on Wednesday – 116-111 by the Raptors.
However, seeing Morant, the team’s biggest star, back on the court and happy is a great sign for the future of the franchise.
Morant, who led the Grizzlies with 28 points, nine assists, and eight rebounds in Tennessee, returned from a 25-game suspension on December 19 after he displayed a gun on Instagram for a second time.
Ja Morant’s daughter, Kaari, was seen on the court for warmups with her father in Memphis.
Morant returned from a 25-game suspension last month after displaying a gun on Instagram.
Heading into Wednesday night’s action, the Grizzlies were 5.5 games out of 10th place and qualifying for a Play-In game.
Morant’s return will surely boost Memphis’ chances at rising in the Western Conference standings.
Morant had the child with his girlfriend, KK Dixon.
Dixon and Morant have been dating since 2018, while Kaari was born in 2019.
Kaari appears to be a source of tremendous pride for Morant, as she’s been at a few games.
Morant is in his fifth season in the NBA, after being drafted No. 2 overall in 2019 out of mid-major Murray State.
Memphis’ next home game is January 12 against the Los Angeles Clippers, giving those at FedEx Forum more than a week before another Kaari sighting is possible.
