During a regular police call in Florida, an officer unexpectedly found himself with a new furry best friend. The adorable puppy captured the affectionate officer’s heart at first glance, and he couldn’t bear to let go after holding the little pup in his arms for just a few moments. As a result, the two have become inseparable companions!

When Officer Marcus Montgomery from the Fort Walton Beach Police Department was called to the Panhandle Animal Welfare Society (PAWS), a nearby animal shelter, he didn’t expect to end up with a new four-legged companion. His task was to address a disagreement between the center and a former employee. However, fate had other plans for him.

According to the officer who spoke to BuzzFeed, their conversation lasted for approximately 20 minutes and they were just about done with their inquiry. As the officer was concluding their talk with the director of PAWS, one of the supervisors left the room and returned holding a small puppy in their arms. The little pup seemed like it had just woken up from a nap as its eyes were droopy and it kept yawning.

The moment officer Montgomery laid eyes on the adorable puppy, he was smitten. He was particularly moved by Kylo’s heartbreaking story – the poor little thing had been abandoned in a box on the shelter’s doorstep overnight and was discovered by an employee the next morning. After cuddling Kylo for a few moments, officer Montgomery knew he couldn’t leave without him. Without hesitation, he adopted the pup and gave him the name Kylo.

Montgomery recounted how he reacted when the supervisor brought the person in, saying that as the individual yawned at him, he looked into their eyes and immediately told the supervisor not to bring them in because he would take them home right away.

After bringing Kylo home with him, officer Montgomery and everyone who met him couldn’t help but adore the lovable pup – even his furry sibling, Vader. Montgomery mentioned that he and his girlfriend had been hoping to add another dog to their family for some time, especially since Vader enjoys making new friends and playing with them. However, they knew that despite Kylo’s sweet nature, many people would overlook him due to his age and the extra care that an older dog like him requires.
