After Free Agency, Here’s the Current Lakers Roster Breakdown

Although free agency has not yet concluded, the Lakers have made their major acquisitions and are now essentially set for the upcoming season.

The Lakers kept their core together and made minor changes by trading for other players, much as vice president of basketball operations Rob Pelinka predicted in his departure interview.

Who left and who joined teams during free agency? After a hectic first week of free agency, here’s where things stand.

The team has used all three of its two-way roster spots. While they do have two openings, the team is expected to leave one roster spot open when they head into the season.

What do you think of the Lakers’ new-look roster? Let us know what you think of the roster and if it’s good enough for a return trip to the Western Conference Finals — or better — in the comments below.

Los Angeles Lakers supporters must be pleased with the team’s free agency moves so far. Rob Pelinka and the rest of the front office wasted little time in getting to work in the opening two days of the offseason, and it doesn’t appear that much will change for them in the coming weeks other than possibly signing another big man to go along with Jaxson Hayes.

The purple and gold capitalized on just about every opportunity that presented itself. The Lakers were able to keep Austin Reaves for only $56 million despite rυmors that he will receive offer sheets of up to $100 million in the past few months. D’Angelo Russell was re-signed for $37 million, and Rui Hachimura was re-signed for $51 million.

Everyone should go to bed feeling satisfied with the day. D’lo will receive the chance to prove that the sky is the limit after just one training camp with this team, despite the fαct that his contract is the one that can be traded. Wow, things are looking up for this squad financially now that they have the Russell Westbrook contract under their belts. Take a look at how their current cap position looks in this update. The Lakers avoided the luxury tax and the hard cap by signing several competent new players. This is fantastic news, as they can still afford to re-sign Mo Bamba on a lower contract or add another veteran to their roster.
