The Chicago Bulls are off to a 2-3 start, and while they’ve shown flashes of promise already, they don’t appear to be all that different from the teams who won championships the past two years. If the Bulls continue to strugglе, they will likely wind up with a low playoff seed and be eliminated in the first round.
With so much up in the air, there has been increasing talk that the Bulls could make significant changes by the NBA Trade Deadline or in the offseason if they are unable to make a noticeable improvement this season.
However, at least for now, as rumors continues to run rampant, the front office isn’t at a position where they’re ready to throw in the towel on this core.
In fact, recent rumors suggest the Bulls have no plans to trade Zach LaVine. This is the position the Bulls should take at this time. There is still time for the Bulls to establish their footing, as the regular season has only just begun. Perhaps LaVine’s future with the Bulls will be discussed again in a couple of months if they are still figҺting for playoff positioning in the Eastern Conference.
What factors may lead to a significant move by the Chicago Bulls at the NBA Trade Deadline
Recent rumors have suggested that the Bulls will not deal LaVine in the near future, although this does not rule out the possibility of a trade involving the team. The Bulls’ postseason hopes are far from assured, and if they are out of the running before the NBA Trade Deadline, it wouldn’t be to see them shop around for an expiring contract like DeMar DeRozan.
Chicago faces an almost insurmountable dilemma: the city likely needs a retooling, but there is no obvious way forward. If they do wind up reaching the conclusion that this core has run its core, they will have to move one of their main players – and that may include LaVine.
However, I’m not convinced this information is completely false. Should I assume that the Bulls now intend to trade LaVine? No. This doesn’t meаn anything is set in stone, though, as a lot may change in the months and weeks building up to the NBA Trade Deadline.
