Members of the Diasozo Animal Rescue Team in Karditsa Greece found abandoned beagle Lydia rotting in a field and were determined to save her

Last week, members of the Diasozo Animal Rescue team in Karditsa, Greece received a desperate call about an abandoned dog in need of help. When the rescuers arrived on the scene, they found a female beagle in awful condition, rotting in a field on the outskirts of town.

The beagle, later named Lydia by her rescuers, was extremely emaciated and infested with maggots. She had been abandoned by her previous owners and left for dead. Lydia was barely clinging to life when the rescuers found her.

The dedicated volunteers from the Diasozo Animal Rescue team knew they had to act quickly to save Lydia’s life. They carefully transported her to a veterinary clinic, where she received emergency medical treatment. Lydia was given IV fluids, medications, and her open wounds were cleaned and treated.

Over the next few days, the vets and rescue team worked tirelessly to rehabilitate dear Lydia. Despite her horrendous condition upon arrival, the resilient beagle responded well to treatment. As Lydia started to regain strength, her sweet and affectionate personality began to shine through.

The selfless rescuers refused to give up on saving Lydia. With their hard work and dedication, this lucky beagle survived against all odds. Just weeks after being abandoned to die alone in a field, Lydia was ready to be discharged into a loving foster home.

Lydia’s story is a testament to the compassion and determination of animal rescue teams like Diasozo. Even in dire circumstances, these heroes never give up hope. Thanks to their efforts, abused and neglected animals like Lydia are given a second chance at life. Her inspiring rescue serves as a reminder that where there is love, there is always hope.
