The NBA In-Season Tournament is a modest competition that will take place in the middle of the season. It was formally announced back in the middle of 2023. Increasing the entertainment value of the National Basketball Association (NBA) and delivering better experiences for fans was the motivation for the creation of this event. The competition is contested in a cup format, with group stages and knockout rounds being featured in the competition.

Thirty teams are taking part in the competition, and they are evenly distributed among six groups in accordance with the regional draw method (each group contains five teams, and each team competes in four matches). The knockout phase will also include the top six teams in each group, as well as the two teams that finished in second place, one team from each region, and the teams that had the best records overall. It is planned that both the semi-finals and the finals will be played on neutral grounds.
