Jaylen Brown Secures the Biggest Contract in NBA History!

Multiple reports indicate that the Boston Celtics have inked Jaylen Brown to a historic five-year, $304 million contract extension.

Brown, a two-time All-Star, averaged a career-high 26.6 points and 6.9 rebounds per game last season.

Prior to 2019, he had signed a four-year, $106.3 million contract extension.

His significant salary increase will take effect for the 2024-25 season.

Previously, Brown was noncommittal about his future with the Celtics, telling The Ringer that he would remain with the team ‘as long as I’m required.’

In March, Brown declared, “It’s not up to me.” We’ll determine over time how they feel about me and how I feel about them. Whatever it is, hopefully it makes sense. However, I will remain where I am desired. I will remain wherever I am required and treated fairly.

After their lopsided Game 7 loss to the Heat in the Eastern Conference Finals, the Celtics acquired Kristaps Porzingis from the Wizards and traded Marcus Smart and Grant Williams.

Boston has finished in the top two seeds in each of the last two regular seasons, but Brown and Jayson Tatum are still searching for their first championship.

In this year’s Miami series, Brown shot just 41.8 percent from the field as the Celtics were ultimately eliminated.
