Lakers legend Magic Johnson’s Bel-Air 10,000-square-foot Mansion Hits the Market for $14.5m

Even though Magic Johnson moved out of this Bel-Air home in the 1990s, he made sure to leave some very sporty touches behind.

A Los Angeles Lakers star used to live in a six-bedroom mansion in Moraga Estates that is now for sale for $14.5 million. The seller, Compass dealer Nancy Ellin, is also putting the 10,000-square-foot gated enclave on the market. The house has six bedrooms, an indoor basketball court, and even a changing room where famous NBA players have signed the walls.

Ellin bought the house in 2004 and added a number of high-end touches to the original house. “After a full renovation, it now has top-of-the-line appliances, marble, custom cabinets, and Moroccan/Spanish design elements that were inspired by our travels,” Ellin tells Mansion Global. “It is the perfect place for a party and a very special place to live.” The grounds, which have a swimming pool, built-in grill, fire pit, and a large brick patio, are especially good.

The entire three-story home has handmade wide wood plank flooring, and the front has a drαmatic foyer with a grand staircase. The first level opens up to an elegant formal dining room with handmade built-ins and a silver leaf soffit ceiling.

The bright living room is just a few steps away, and it flows right into the family room, which has a wood-burning fireplace and a Moroccan-style sitting rotunda. Nearby is a custom chef’s kitchen with marble countertops, an island with seating, and a butler’s closet. A big breakfast area has French doors on all sides that lead to the backyard and let in lots of light.

The large main room is on the second floor. It has a sitting area, a fireplace, and a balcony. The master bathroom is modern and all white. It has a steam shower and a Jacuzzi tub. On the third floor, there is a huge, fully-stocked gym, as well as three beds for kids and a bedroom and bathroom for guests. As you might have guessed, Johnson’s indoor basketball court was made just for him. If you’d rather just watch, you can look through a window in the game room to see how your friends shσσt.
