Mapping an imaginative trail in the wooded area of “The Camp,” Guinet narrates the absorption of human rights by nature. Under the playful epithet of “Monsieur Plant,” he presents five productions inspired by what nature offers us: “Serenity,” with its calm and quiet; “The Way,” guiding us on the right path; “Patience,” teaching us to wait calmly through cycles; “Creation,” with its power of regeneration; and “Contemplation,” fostering a meditative state of rest.
The artist’s fascination with nature began during his teenage years, where a passion for plants, particularly the cultivation of orchids, drew his attention. He was attracted by their precise requirements and rewarded by the beauty and delicacy of their flowers. Later on, his tastes evolved to encompass urban cultures, including skateboarding, street art, and fashion, as demonstrated by the inclusion of Nike trainers within the installation, providing viewers with glimpses of the artist’s personality. Guinet acknowledges that his craft allows him to understand the kind of world we live in, addressing concerns related to industrialization, manipulation, and how human thought has evolved over time.
