PSG superstar Lionel Messi subject of staggering €88m-per-season offer to become highest-paid player in football history

Joan Fontes, a journalist from Spain, said that Al-Ittihad FC could make a crazy offer to get Messi’s services this summer. Al-Ittihad is said to be willing to give Messi a two-year contract and a salary of €88 million per season. If he agrees to this deal, he will be the most well-paid football player ever.

The club is hoping to sign Lionel Messi and win the national title for the first time since 2008-09 by taking on Al-Hilal and Al-Nassr, who have been the undisputed champions of the league since then.

Given that the Argentine’s current deal with Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) will not be renewed after the 2022-23 campaign, it is unclear what the player’s plans are for the foreseeable future. Despite the fact that the French giants intend to have Messi on their books beyond this year, there have not been any formal negotiations about a contract extension.

Should Messi decide against extending his time in Paris, many people believe that he will either go back to Barcelona or make a transfer to the Major League Soccer team Inter Miami. Both of these possibilities have been generally thought to be among his alternatives.

Incidentally, Al-Hilal’s head coach Ramon Diaz recently spoke about the spending power of Saudi Arabian clubs. He said (via Marca):

“Saudi Arabia has the chance to buy Messi now, imagine the power this country has. We are waiting for that now.”

Lionel Messi’s next club has been ‘leaked’ by Sergio Aguero after he let slip their private conversation with the PSG star.

Speaking to UOL, the former Manchester City star explained: “He is seriously considering the possibility of playing for Newell’s.”

Messi’s former Argentina teammate, Maxi Rodriguez, however, intervened and laughed off the former Manchester City striker’s suggestion

He added: “Kun is Kun. He can’t keep quiet. We will see.

“It is hard to talk about this because then a giant ball of rumours is made. Let’s wait and see what happens. We will not get ahead of the facts.”

Lionel Messi’s current contract with PSG expires in June.
