Christophe Galtier and Kylian Mbappe have recently shared their thoughts on their future with Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) following the team’s departure from the UEFA Champions League.
It is important to note that both Galtier and Mbappe are key figures in the PSG squad, and their decisions regarding their future with the club are of great interest to fans and football enthusiasts alike.
Les Parisiens entered the second leg of the Champions League Round of 16 against Bayern Munich with high hopes of reversing a one-goal deficit. Unfortunately, their aspirations were not met as they suffered a 2-0 loss, ultimately losing the tie 3-0 on aggregate.
Players from PSG are once again in the spotlight after another loss in the competition. Jamie Carragher has already told Kylian Mbappe that he should join Real Madrid as soon as he can.
The France international, on the other hand, has said that his main goal right now is to help Paris win Ligue 1. He wouldn’t say much about his plans, but he seemed to leave the door open to rethinking the situation later.
“No, no, I’m calm — the only thing that matters to me this season is to win now Ligue 1 and then we’ll see,” Kylian Mbappe was quoted as saying by Fabrizio Romano. “At the moment, I’m only talking about this season. Nothing else matters to me. We are disappointed.”
The exit of PSG from the Champions League has sparked rumors about the future of their manager, Galtier. The French tactician has stated that he is committed to seeing out the remainder of the season with the team. However, he has also acknowledged that his future with the club is contingent upon the decision of the hierarchy.
“My future? It’s really too early to talk about it,” Galtier was quoted as saying by Romano. “It depends on the management and my president. There’s a disappointment. The club had a lot of hopes for this competition. I stay focused on the end of the season.”
Galtier is signed to the Parisians until June 2024, but he might be leaving soon. People have already talked about Zinedine Zidane and Thiago Motta as possible replacements for the Frenchman.
