Maria Sharapova not only constantly posts videos about her fiancé and son, but also shares her experiences as a mother.
Recently, Maria Sharapova has been posting videos of her time with her son Theodore and her fiancé Alexander Gikes. They enjoy weekends together at the beach.
The former world No. 1 female tennis player, who retired in 2020, shared many happy times with her son, along with very short captions.
The first video is a beautiful scene at the beach with the caption: “Weekends…”.
This was followed by a video of Theodore holding her hand and walking away, with the caption: “…with my bear (bear emoji).”
Then there’s a video of her eating her favorite Amara Baby Food snack, and another of her holding a bag of the snack while Theodore plays with Gikes. “His snack becomes my snack. I’m very invested in this company.”
Sharapova was rumored to be dating Gikes, a businessman, in January 2018. And two years later, they announced on Instagram that they were engaged after Gikes proposed.
In 2022, they welcomed their son Theodore. In a recent interview with People, they admitted that they were in no rush to get married, even after Theodore was born.
On Tennis Channel, the Russian “doll” also shared her feelings about being a mother.
When asked about her experience as a parent, the 37-year-old former tennis player said that she is still having to “get used to” a lot and learn every day.
“It (motherhood) is still happening. There are a lot of mothering skills that I have to get used to that I don’t know so I have to learn a lot like I have learned throughout my business and sports career.
I’m learning every day. You have to give something to get something back,” Sharapova said.
She added that being a mother is the best thing in her life. “It is the best thing in my life. I teach and grow with her. I learn through her actions and her discoveries.
She explores the world and I explore with her. She has very long eyelashes, I don’t know where they come from, but I’m grateful for them.”
Sharapova retired in February 2020, after winning five Grand Slams in her career.
