Carter is the name of a puppy that was cruelly abandoned by its owners, Curtis Swan and Aaleyah Clay.
The puppy was tied to the fence for five days.
Apparently, the couple had decided to move out of state and after moving all their belongings, they would be back to pick up the puppy.
But this never happened and the defenseless Carter endured his worst days tied to a fence without the ability to seek help or food to survive.
The puppy was previously named Jon Snow.
The furry boy who seemed to have the home of his dreams, unfortunately faced a terrible situation when his owners decided that they no longer wanted him to be part of the new story that they would begin in another city.
Luckily, Carter’s fate changed after the Popcorn Park Animal Refuge intervened to save his life .
He had an open, infected wound on his neck.
Carter was moved to the sanctuary facility and received all the medical attention he needed. Unfortunately, being tied up and under pressure for so long caused a serious injury to his neck From him.
The puppy had to comply with strict treatment and was later transferred to another shelter where he had a satisfactory recovery.
Carter received laser treatment on the wound.
After several days the puppy proved to be quite the warrior and quickly recovered.
Due to all the pain he was subjected to due to neglect and mistreatment, representatives of the sanctuary filed criminal charges against Curtis Swan and Aaleyah Clay who must answer to justice.
Detective Iván Romero directs the investigation against the former owners of the puppy.
The investigation is still ongoing and no further details are available to date. What cannot be denied is that these ruthless beings must assume their irresponsibility before justice .
For now, Carter will remain in the care of shelter staff until the case is resolved legally.
