Curry made a hole-in-one on a par-3, 152-yard hole, prompting the two-time NBA MVP to throw off his cap in jubilation. The 35-year-old then raced with arms extended all the way to the putting green before turning around and returning the opposite way through the bunker.

Curry, a basketball player of Hall of Fame caliber who is also a renowned golfer, is still in the lead of the competition after nine holes of the second round.

The legendary member of the Golden State Warriors is competing against other legendary athletes in the American Century Championship celebrity golf event, and his stellar round on Friday gave him a four-point lead going into the weekend.

Curry scored 27 points in the first round using a modified Stableford scoring system, which subtracts two points for double bogey or worse and awards one point for par, three for birdie, and six for eagle. The four-time NBA champion, 35, got off to a strong start at Edgewood Tahoe with two birdies and an eagle on the opening four holes.

Curry, who competed alongside his father Dell and brother Seth, claimed it was “probably one of the better rounds I’ve ever played, considering it was in the tournament.” The four-time NBA champion, 35, got off to a strong start at Edgewood Tahoe with two birdies and an eagle on the opening four holes.
