Vin Diesel Gifted 1970 Dodge Charger ‘Tantrum’ for 52nd Birthday on Fast 9 Set
Celebrating his 52nd birthday on the set of Fast 9, actor Vin Diesel received a spectacular gift from the crew—a 1970 Dodge Charger ‘Tantrum’ built by SpeedKore Performance. Known for his love of American muscle cars, Diesel’s character Dominic Toretto in the Fast and Furious franchise shares this passion, and the crew decided to surprise the actor with a remarkable present.
The 1970 Dodge Charger ‘Tantrum’ is a powerhouse, featuring a Mercury Marine Racing 9.0-liter engine with twin turbochargers, delivering a staggering 1650 hp. Paired with a Tremec six-speed manual transmission and a Ford nine-inch rear end, it stands out as one of the most extraordinary Chargers ever created.
Built by SpeedKore Performance a few years ago, the Tantrum boasts an exterior adorned in carbon fiber, while the interior showcases meticulous craftsmanship with new leather seats, Alcantara elements, and carbon fiber accents. Despite being listed for sale earlier this year, the car is no longer available online, indicating that it may have been purchased outright.
A video posted on Vin Diesel’s Instagram captures the moment of surprise as the muscle car roars to life in the distance and is revealed to him by the film crew and director Justin Lin. The Tantrum, a fitting tribute to Diesel’s love for American muscle, adds a touch of Fast and Furious flair to the actor’s birthday celebration.
