This 1964 Ford Galaxie 500 is an R-code fastback coupe that was inherited by the seller in February 2018 as an unfinished refurbishment and subsequently completed in 2022. Work included refinishing the body in white, overhauling the brakes and suspension, rebuilding the 427ci V8, and replacing the intake manifold and carburetors. Additional equipment includes a four-speed manual transmission, 3.50:1 gearing, 15″ steel wheels with Ford hubcaps, chrome trim, quad headlights, red vinyl interior trim, a Hurst shifter, a heater, and a push-button AM radio. This Galaxie 500 is now offered with a shop manual, records from the 2013 engine rebuild, the removed engine components, and a Wisconsin title in the seller’s name.

The body left the factory finished in Wimbledon White (M) and was refinished in 2016. Chrome trim adorns the bumpers, grille, rocker panels, and side moldings. Additional details include Galaxie 500 and 427 badging, quad headlights, and a dual exhaust system with a crossover pipe.

The 15″ body-color steel wheels wear Ford hubcaps and 215/65 General Altimax tires. Stopping power is provided by four-wheel drum brakes. The brakes and suspension components were overhauled as part of the refurbishment, according to the seller.

The front and rear bench seats are upholstered in red vinyl with white accent piping. Bright trim lines the dashboard and door panels, while additional equipment includes a Hurst T-handle shifter, vent windows, a heater, door sill protectors, and an AM radio wired to speakers mounted in the parcel shelf. The three-spoke steering wheel features a half horn ring and fronts a 120-mph speedometer flanked by gauges for fuel level and coolant temperature. An AutoMeter oil pressure gauge is mounted beneath the dashboard. The five-digit odometer shows 41k miles, approximately 500 of which have been added under current ownership. Total mileage is unknown.

The 427ci R-code V8 was rebuilt in 2013 using a replacement water pump, oil pump, timing set, bearings, piston rings, and carburetors along with an aftermarket Blue Thunder intake manifold. The engine spent a period of time in storage before being installed as part of the refurbishment completed in 2022. The oil was changed in preparation for the sale. The removed intake manifold, air cleaner, and carburetors are included in the sale.

Power is sent to the rear wheels via a four-speed manual transmission and a rear axle housing a 3.50:1 open differential.
