Internet is giggling after the horse demands a kiss from the owner

Do horses develop strong emotional bonds with their owners like dogs do? They do, indeed. Extremely so. They also retain vivid recollections of both the people with whom they have formed positive bonds and those who have hurt, or mistreated them. The length of the relationship is significantly influenced by a number of factors, not the least of which is how much time the person spends with the horse. I’ve had the pleasure of boarding my horses at someone else’s property, where, depending on the situation, I saw them anywhere from once or twice a week to an hour a day.

I returned the favor since my horses recognized me and responded to me in a certain way. However, it wasn’t quite as bad as having them live on my property for the previous 19 years. They are familiar with my routine, view me as a friend and companion, and appear to care whether or not I arrive. If we are good owners, we are their source of food, comfort, and safety. If we are not, we are the cause of their suffering and concern. We have a coworker relationship with them if we ride them in addition to just owning them because the connection is strengthened by the physical contact. Simply put, it’s not as easy as it seems.

The degree of the relationship is also strongly influenced by how knowledgeable the human is in this situation. I’ve known people who have owned horses for decades who have no idea what their animals are thinking, feeling, or what their needs and wants might be. They frequently act in ways that make me shake my head, and they have no explanation for much of their horses’ conduct. Those horses appeared content to see anyone who even had the slightest idea of how to relate to them yet had no genuine relationship with their owners.

All in all, the relationship between a horse and the owner is simply beautiful. That’s what the following video is all about. The lovely horse in the video demands kisses from the owner.
