A 19-year-old cat in the care of animal shelter staff in Ohio captured the attention of many online by giving him a spectacular birthday party to help him find a home for his aspirations.

Saving Grace Rescue in San Francisco, California, rescued Grace and Max, two adorable blind cats. Despite their inability to see, the cats have not let their handicap prevent them from living a regular existence. They also have a wonderful home and a family who adores them unconditionally.

Little did photographer Steve Hamel realize it would be the beginning of a great trip when he worked on his jeep in his garage in late December of last year. Steve saw a wonderful, friendly cat in his garage, and as he didn’t have any cats, he naturally concluded she was missing and went in search of safety.
