Spanish dancer is an appropriate moniker for this unusual being

The Spanish dancer is a unique species belonging to the nudibranch family of soft-bodied mollusks. This creature, fittingly named for its graceful and dance-like movements, has caught the attention of many online users in recent years.

As per and Facebook videos from Euronews Green with over 30K and 36K views respectively, these creatures are known for their striking red-orange color and can grow up to 20-30 centimeters long. They are found throughout the tropical and subtropical waters of the Indo-Pacific area and are harmless to humans.

According to a post on Snopes, the Spanish dancer has recently gone viral after a photograph of it was shared on social media. The post described the creature as a type of sea slug with a striking resemblance to a flamenco dancer.

It is interesting to note that Spanish dancers shed their shells after their larval stage and are therefore classified as nudibranchs. These creatures are fascinating to watch in their natural habitat, where they seem to be putting on a show with their dance-like movements.
