Anthony Edwards scored 15 points to lead Team USA in a scrimmage against Puerto Rico on Monday night in preparation for the 2023 FIBA World Cup, but he was clearly not satisfied with his performance.

Cameron Johnson also scored 15 points, making him tied for the game’s high scorer honors with Edwards; this may explain why Edwards felt he could have performed better after the fact.’Edwards stated, “I felt good, man,” on a video shared by the NBA on X. I wish I had played better, but it all works out in the end. We’ll get it worked out.

After offering his assessment of Team USA’s first pre-World Cup match, 22-year-old Edwards was on his way to the locker room when he was approached by reporters and hailed by Draymond Green.

Green, 33, saw Edwards’s performance from courtside with Kevin Durant, and they were both impressed. The NBA video also featured Austin Reaves, who smiled and said he was having fun while playing.

Although Reaves, 25, did not score in double figures, he did enough to get a “cold” X post from Los Angeles Lakers teammate LeBron James.Besides Edwards and Johnson, the night’s other top scorers, Jaren Jackson Jr. scored 12 points, and Mikal Bridges scored 11. The United States of America defeated Puerto Rico 117-74 with points from Brandon Ingram, Jalen Brunson, and Bobby Portis Jr.

Although they got off to a poor start, Team USA ended the first half winning 50-43. The second half was dominated by their defense, which allowed only 31 points to Puerto Rico.
