This amazing sᴄᴇɴᴇ occurred on the banks of the Florida Everglades, as a python brutally wrapped itself around an alligator’s neck. In ᴄʟᴏsᴇ proximity to a busy asphalt road, the Burmese python was seen trying to choke the enraged animal.

Unidentified photographer at the Everglades National Park in Homestead captured the two beasts engaged in fierce combat. The large alligator could be seen attempting to defend itself and then it had successfully inserted the tail of the strong serpent into its mouth and looked to be clamping down.

The snake was simultaneously making every effort to suffocate the beast by wrapping itself around its large midsection. Who actually prevailed in the ғɪɢʜᴛ is unclear. Although they were ᴀᴄᴄɪᴅᴇɴᴛally introduced and are not native to Florida, pythons have managed to survive by out-competing other prominent predators.

Alligators can be ᴋɪʟʟed by them, although typically just the younger ones because their jaws are simpler to encircle. Burmese pythons are currently battling indigenous alligators for dominance in the area.
