What is a working day like for this four-legged station manager?
If you travel to Kaohsiung, Taiwan (China), when passing by Qiaotou metro station, you will likely encounter a large crowd of people here. That’s not because of waiting for the upcoming train, but the reason comes from the lovely “station manager”. Mikan – a yellow-haired cat is the character mentioned.
Mikan was originally a homeless cat, then was adopted by the staff at the subway station. The four-legged animal was named after the color of its yellow fur – Mikan.
Since then, Mikan became one of the members of this subway station. Not long after, the cat was also appointed as a foreman, with the daily responsibility of maintaining order and peace of the train station. Every passenger passing by here is fascinated by the sharp eyes of this station manager.
The cat looks very handsome, although sometimes a bit lazy during the shift, even quite mischievous. After playing a boring game of hide and seek with the cardboard box, Mikan fumbled and sat down on the chair again, his eyes narrowed and he seemed a bit lethargic, looking into the distance, both on duty and daydreaming.
This cute and funny appearance has melted many passengers’ hearts. Immediately, this special manager attracted many people to come take photos, creating a bustling atmosphere in front of the train station.
However, to meet Mikan face to face, you still have to check the passengers’ luck, because the manager’s colleagues said that Mikan’s work schedule is not fixed. Whether the cat goes to work or not depends entirely on its mood, which is of course quite erratic.
However, Mikan fans can still regularly follow the cat’s daily activities through the social networking page that station staff have created. Currently, this page has more than 10,000 followers, some fans even sent gifts to Mikan.
