Abused Stray Cat Undergoes Incredible Transformation Thanks to Plastic Surgery

Spot, an 11-year-old cat, didn’t look too good when he first visited the Lichfield and Tamworth Cat Protection Branch in the UK. The man was extremely skinny, with filthy fur, rotting teeth, and ears so infected they were swollen to twice their normal size. Rescuers could tell that this poor senior cat had spent most of his life on the streets.

But this rescue organization – despite being run entirely by volunteers – did not let this old cat suffer in silence. After sharing Spot’s story throughout the community, rescuers raised more than $2,300 to give the cat a complete makeover including dental, neutering, vaccinations, microchipping – even plastic surgery on the ears.

But sadly, rescuers couldn’t erase all the scars from Spot’s past life. The severity of the animal’s injuries meant doctors were able to keep the cat from going deaf during ear surgery. Still, Spot is happier and healthier than ever. Now, he spends his days showing gratitude and love to everyone around him while patiently waiting for someone to adopt him.

“Spot loves people and companionship and is happy to be with you at all times,” the rescuers wrote. “He is very affectionate and will kneel down for a cuddle as soon as you sit down. Spot really wants to be the only pet in the house so he gets all the attention and noise.”
