Rescue workers successfully rescued a cat after several days of being stuck on a highway in Texas.
The cat was stuck atop a pole on Interstate 10 West. With the efforts of a team of rescue workers from the El Paso Police Department, the Texas Department of Transportation and the El Paso Fire Department, the cat was rescued after days of being stuck at high altitude.
El Paso Animal Services took in and cared for the cat after its rescue. Veterinarians say the cat is dehydrated and is currently being treated with intravenous fluids, but luckily he is uninjured.
According to El Paso animal services, the cat got stuck up high after getting into a vehicle because of the cold weather.
“The cat probably got inside the car’s engine to keep warm,” said Dr. Alana Canupp, chief veterinarian at El Paso Animal Services. “But it fell out while the car was moving on.” highway but luckily there was no accident, then the cat climbed down the pillar to take shelter.”
Now that someone has adopted the cat, Animal Services hopes it can live a long and healthy life. El Paso Animal Services advises people to check their cars, especially the hood, before driving on cold winter mornings to spot any animals hiding there.
Check carefully to avoid a situation like one woman in Australia encountered. Ms. Christine Jones, from Armidale in New South Wales, Australia, had to experience that unpleasant feeling when preparing to get into her car.
Christine recalled that she did not check the car, so when she approached to open the car door, she was startled to find a creepy, hairy creature lying on the car door handle. Christine Jones thought it was a hairy caterpillar of some kind, but it was actually a dangerous huntsman spider.
