If the popular saying “the eyes are the windows to the soul” holds true, then allow me to introduce you to two individuals possessing some of the most gorgeous souls you’ll ever encounter: Xafi and Auri!

Thanks to their charming appearance, the “American Blue” breed of Russian Blue cats have been gaining popularity on social media with a staggering 112k followers on Instagram.

Xafi and Auri may look like twins, but the reality is that Xafi is actually one year older than her sister. Despite any confusion from their fans, their parents Annaken and Tim, who are based in the UK, have become experts at distinguishing between the two.

Auri sports a round-shaped face, ears wider than usual, and fur that is slightly darker. On the other hand, Xafi has an angular face with ears that are slightly taller.

Their meowing sound is quite unique, just like their behavior and movements.

Despite weighing the same amount of 3.5kg, Auri appears to have more defined muscles and a toned physique.

Although their appearance may be similar, that’s where the similarities between Xafi and Auri come to a halt. Anneken describes Xafi as being more people-oriented while Auri is independent. Additionally, Auri is quite athletic while Xafi tends to be clumsy. When it comes to seeking attention, Xafi is quite vocal and demanding whereas Auri requests affection in a more gentle and quiet manner. However, both of these lovely girls possess an immense amount of affection and sweetness that makes them stand out in Anneken’s eyes.

It took a good amount of time for me to master the art of photographing felines. It’s particularly tricky to get both of them in one frame. To achieve this, we use a combination of treats and toys to get them to cooperate and gaze directly into the camera lens.

Anneken mentioned to Bored Panda that she no longer takes many staged photos of cats. Instead, she prefers to capture them in their natural setting while they go about their usual feline activities.

Soon enough, the family welcomed a new member- Errol, a Somali cat. Known for his insatiable hunger, non-stop purring, and drool-inducing antics, Errol has become quite the social media sensation with his own Instagram account and growing fan base.

In my opinion, Xafi and Auri are simply irresistible. They have a charm that captivates anyone who lays eyes on them, including myself!
