Laura the piglet and Marina the kitten first met at the interspecies equality sanctuary for farm animals in Santiago, Chile, Santuario Igualdad Interespecie.
Her mother abandoned Marina because she was ill, frail, and had pus-filled eyes. Marina probably would have died if no one had helped her. A benevolent individual saved her life by bringing her to the Chilean sanctuary.
Laura’s mother is a sow used for breeding, and she was born for slaughter. However, she was rescued from the meat industry by activists.
Fearful upon her arrival at the sanctuary, Laura was trembling.
Marina and Laura were rescued within a few days of one another. When Laura met Marina, Marina assisted her in calming down and relaxing.
Today, Marina the kitten and Laura the piglet have strengthened their initial bond.
They sleep closely together, cuddle, and exchange numerous hugs and kisses. Even when one is sleeping, the other continues to play while waiting for the other to awaken.
They found solace in one another and share the most unlikely and beautiful of friendships, especially considering how dissimilar they are.
