Two months ago, a tiny kitten stumbled into a well! After falling down into the darkness she was trapped.
After finding out about her, Erin, a foster volunteer for Wrenn Rescues, Los Angeles, offered to take her in.
“She was found inside a well, stuck there for two days,” Erin said. The tuxedo was exhausted, dehydrated and covered in dirt after she was rescued from the challenging situation. Volunteers from CAAT Friends safely transported the kitten to Erin, so the little ball of fur could be hand-reared around the clock.
“She didn’t have the best appetite and wasn’t really suckling. We had to tube-feed her for the first day, but she came around after a few full bellies.”

“She started gaining weight really well and eating like a champ. She was taking all her meals on her own after a little kick start with the tube feedings,” Erin said.
It was really only Jojo’s, as she was named, strong will to live that enabled her to recover so quickly from her ordeal. It quickly became apparent that after two days on her own, separated from her family, what she really needed was a buddy.
But before that could occur she needed to be medically cleared so she could socialize with other kittens. To help her cope with her isolation Erin gave her a cuddle toy to help cope with her isolation.
“We knew that she would be the perfect addition to our little crew of black and white fosters we already had, even though she was (three weeks) younger.”
She also received lots of cuddles as the days counted down to the big introduction. “Jojo wanted so much to be a part of the big kitty crew!”
When the big day arrived things went so smoothly, she was quickly taken under the paws of the bigger kittens a friendly game of roughhousing began.
“She fit right in, ran around with the bigger foster girls and was slowly learning how to cat from them,” said Erin.
Then she enjoyed the rough and tumble company of all her new friends, Jojo still loved her human friends too. Never missing the opportunity to fill any vacant lap she might come across.
“She was spending more time with the big kitties, and becoming quite the (toy) huntress.”
“She is silly, crazy and so cuddly. She just loves to be on your lap and in your face grooming you. She has the cutest little meow, and immediately purrs and wants to snuggle the minute you walk into the room.”
“She plays hard and cuddles harder.”
It wasn’t long to Jojo the tuxedo kitten was recognized as a full-fledged cuddle bug, refusing point-blank to spend any time on her own.
“She shared three older (foster) sisters until they were all adopted. She then enjoyed two slightly younger but smaller brothers. She is bold, chatty and such a snuggler.”
Time flew by, and two months after rescue from the well Jojo moved into her forever home where she is spending her days with a feline sibling of her own, and a family that adores her.
“She has been a dream to foster. We are beyond thrilled to have been a part of her journey.”
Thanks to her rescue, and a loving foster family, Jojo has blossomed into the loving cat she was always meant to be.
