The pictures of Ukrainian people fleeing with their pets to get shelter from air raids in subway stations have touched the hearts of many people around the world.
The heartwarming photo of a cat dad in a red jacket affectionately cuddling and trying to comfort his agitated cat went viral as soon as it was shared on Reddit with a caption text that read: ‘Wow, this one really got me!”
The viral photograph was taken by Marcus Yam, a freelance photo-journalist that works with the Los Angeles Times and just a few hours after being posted on Reddit, the image had +80k views, and +1K comments.
While most people felt moved by such a heartbreaking image, some readers pointed out the cat was not in a carrier nor was it wearing a harness, and discussed whether carrying the cat in one’s arms was a safe way to handle a small feline in case of emergency.
One the users commented: ‘This is making me reflect too. I’m not even close to this type of conflict, but I have three cats and only one carrier. Time to buy more and prepare for something that would likely never happen!’
